Introduction to Chaffles

“Chaffles” is a term coined by the combination of cheese + waffles = chaffles. While the name sounds a little strange, the taste and simplicity of these recipes more than makes up for it! Below you will find three delicious and savory chaffle recipes…and you can make them in as little as 10 minutes!

We have three delicious recipes to share with you. Each one is unique and can be made in no time.

Original Chaffle

First is a Original Chaffle recipe. Eat as is, topped with butter, or tear it in half or quarters to use as a bread replacement for a sandwich.

  • Ingredients:
    • 1 large egg
    • 1/2 cup shredded cheese (any type)
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Instructions:
    1. Preheat your waffle iron.
    2. Mix the egg, cheese, and salt in a bowl.
    3. Pour the mixture into the waffle iron.
    4. Cook until the cheese is melted and the egg is set.

Pizza Chaffle

The second chaffle recipe is my personal favorite, the Pizza Chaffle. Feel free to use a variety of classic pizza toppings, but below is our family’s favorite, pepperoni! Dip in your favorite marinara sauce and enjoy!

  • Ingredients:
    • 1 large egg
    • 1/2 cup shredded cheese (any type)
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • 2-3 slices of pepperoni
  • Instructions:
    1. Preheat your waffle iron.
    2. Mix the egg, cheese, and salt in a bowl.
    3. Add the pepperoni slices to the mixture.
    4. Pour the mixture into the waffle iron.
    5. Cook until the cheese is melted and the egg is set.

Cheddar Jalapeño Chaffle

Last but not least, one of my favorite combos, the Cheddar Jalapeño Chaffle! Feel free to adjust the amount jalapeño you use depending on how spicy you like your food. If you really like spicy foods, you can skip chopping the jalapeño slices and just add them into the recipe in whole slices. If you like a more mild spice, chop the jalapeño slices into small pieces and use as little or as much as you’d like.

  • Ingredients:
    • 1 large egg
    • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • 1-2 slices of jalapeño
  • Instructions:
    1. Preheat your waffle iron.
    2. Mix the egg, cheese, and salt in a bowl.
    3. Add the jalapeño slices to the mixture.
    4. Pour the mixture into the waffle iron.
    5. Cook until the cheese is melted and the egg is set.
